Climate in Belfast
Northern Ireland has a wet, windy and cold climate due to it’s latitude position. If Northern Ireland didn’t have the warm gulf stream flowing in the weather system would be similar to that of Newfoundland in Canada which is also wet, windy and cold only they don’t have a gulf stream so all the rain in the winter becomes snow instead leaving them with a few feet of snow to shovel everyday.
The past few years the climate has been getting colder which scientists are still trying to explain with their various theories. Read our blog for more information on these theories.
